The Sălcuța company has resumed the production of sparkling wines. The new Bravista range includes two wines – Bravista Cuvée Blanc (Chardonnay – Fetească Albă) and Bravista Fetească Regală, produced using the Charmat method. Light, fresh wines with elegant aromas – the perfect choice for the warm season and for any moment when you want a glass of wine with “elegant bubbles”.
The company’s owner, Sergiu Pislaru, believes that for Sălcuța, returning to the production of sparkling wines was a natural stage in the winery’s development, as sparkling wine consumption continues to grow worldwide, and more and more consumers choose them not only for holidays, but also for everyday moments.
Moldova has excellent conditions for the production of fresh and aromatic white wines, and this also means a great potential for obtaining high-quality sparkling wines”, says the company’s director. “We are convinced that today Moldova can confidently compete on the international market not only with still wines, but also with premium sparkling wines. That is why we decided to reintroduce this category into our portfolio and create a Moldovan sparkling wine that responds to international trends, combining freshness, elegance and quality.
The grapes come exclusively from our own vineyards and are harvested manually, in small crates, from carefully selected plots, at the moment of optimal ripeness. Careful transportation and delicate processing allow the natural freshness of the berries and aromatic richness to be preserved.
At the same time, we wanted this wine to be accessible to the widest possible audience, to accompany the most beautiful moments in life and provide pleasure with every glass. For us, Bravista is not just a new range of sparkling wines, but the symbol of a new stage in the development of Sălcuța and the desire to present the modern face of Moldovan winemaking.”
What does Bravista mean?
Bravista combines two words – Bravo and Vista. Bravo symbolizes joy, admiration and those moments when everything happens exactly as it should. Vista means a beautiful view, a new perspective and new experiences.
That is why the name Bravista reflects the state we wanted to convey through these wines. It evokes the beauty of the moment, the joy of being together, the celebration of life and the desire to savor every special moment”, explains Sergiu Pislaru.
Starting from this vision, two distinct styles were created. The Bravista Cuvée Blanc blend brings together Chardonnay and Fetească Albă. Chardonnay offers structure and elegance, and one of the traditional Moldovan varieties, Fetească Albă, adds delicacy, floral notes and personality.
The second sparkling wine is made entirely from Fetească Regală. This variety stands out for its intense aromas of fruits and flowers and is ideal for producing fresh and expressive sparkling wines.
Our goal was to create modern, versatile and at the same time gastronomic sparkling wines, which would be excellent both as an aperitif and in combination with numerous culinary dishes.
We chose the Charmat method because it allows the natural freshness of the grapes and the purity of the aromas to be preserved to the maximum. The result is wines with a lively character, expressive aromas, invigorating acidity and harmonious taste – exactly the style of sparkling wines that is currently in international trends”, emphasizes Sergiu Pislaru.
For the tasting, we chose two types of glasses: the classic “flute” glass, intended for sparkling wines, and a universal glass for still wines, with a wider bowl, to best highlight the aromatic complexity.
Bravista Fetească Regală Brut

In the “flute” glass, a rich mousse forms when pouring, and the wine has a very light straw-yellow color. The fine bubbles rise elegantly in continuous rows, offering a very beautiful play.
At first olfactory contact, floral aromas predominate. The bouquet is expressive but balanced, with notes of acacia flowers, vine flowers, green apple and apricot.
In the universal glass, the aromas become fruitier. Acacia flowers, “Duchesse” pear, vine flowers, orange and apple are distinguished. Compared to the flute glass, the floral notes are more discreet, and the fruity ones become more evident.
Some consumers appreciate the wines of the Fetească Regală variety as having a too intense aromatic profile. However, in the case of a sparkling wine, which goes through two fermentations, the intensity of the primary aromas is better integrated than in still wines. That is why Bravista Fetească Regală can conquer even the most demanding consumers.
The taste is fresh and refreshing, with notes of orange and “Duchesse” candies. The aftertaste brings nuances of orange peel and the same fine candy accents. Alcohol: 12%, sugar: 9 g/l.
This Brut leaves the impression of a light wine, very pleasant to drink, with an expressive taste and bouquet. Everything is harmonious and balanced.
Bravista Cuvée Blanc Brut

Compared to Fetească Regală, Cuvée Blanc (Chardonnay – Fetească Albă) impresses with a more complex style. For those who prefer a more discreet aromatic profile, this is the ideal choice.
In the “flute” glass, the white and persistent foam and the elegant play of bubbles immediately create a festive atmosphere. The color is very light straw yellow, a sign of the freshness of the wine.
The first nose is floral-fruity. Lime flowers, jasmine, vine flowers, lemon and delicate notes of fresh honey are distinguished.
In the universal glass, floral aromas become dominant. There are notes of lime blossom, vine blossom, jasmine, Duchesse pear, notes of sweet pastry, a light crust of toasted rye bread, apple and mineral accents of chalk.
The taste is clean and refreshing, with nuances of Duchesse candies and lemon peel. These notes continue into a long aftertaste, even more interesting than the taste itself, complemented by a discreet minerality and a grapefruit finish. Alcohol: 12.5%, sugar: 9 g/l.
Both wines are impeccably made from a technological point of view and offer a very pleasant tasting experience. Their taste is especially worth noting, because in many sparkling wines produced using the Charmat method it can be quite simple, but here it is rich, expressive and interesting. Both Bravista sparkling wines are the ideal choice for festive moments and special occasions.
