“Moldova Wine Route” is a new, free trilingual mobile application, which is a guide through the most sophisticated experience of Moldova – Moldovan wines and wineries.
Each country makes a special impression on us, and for Moldova this is the specific taste of its fantastic wines that will remain imprinted in our memories forever. Being one the largest wine producing countries in the world, Moldova now annually exports 46 million bottles worldwide. With its long and rich history of wine production, Moldova has to offer a remarkable experience of wine tasting in its prestigious tasting rooms, along with guided tours and classy restaurants and accommodation in its world-famous wineries.
“Moldova Wine Route” application currently provides information on top 12 wineries, each of which presents its services and up to 10 wine varieties and sorts. The wineries included in the application are: Cricova, Mileştii Mici, Château, Vartely, Château Purcari, Castel Mimi, Asconi Winery, Migdal-P, Branesti Winery, Et Cetera Winery, Tiraspol Winery and Distillery KVINT, KaraGani Winery and Carpe Diem Winery. Also the application includes recommendations regarding the most popular wine-bars and wine-shops in Chisinau.
The wineries welcome both domestic and foreign tourists, and the application is created to help them find the best routes with GPS navigation and sufficient service information. It is ideal for foreign business travelers, families, adventurers, but also for Moldovan people who wish to indulge in an outstanding experience in their own country.
This user-friendly application offers information in three languages: Romanian, Russian and English. It is already available for download on Google Play for Android and very soon on App Store for iOS. After a few weeks of testing and collecting feedback from users, the application will be updated. As well a paid promotion campaign is considered, which will be run on Facebook.
The development of “Moldova Wine Route” application is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development through the Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and Tourism Agency of Republic of Moldova, in cooperation with the Centre for Promotion of Wine Tourism in Moldova and the Moldovan Association of Sommelier.

“A specific objective, contained in the Tourism Development Strategy “Tourism 2020” is “The technological modernization of the tourism industry through the use of information and communication technologies”. Thus, the creation of the “Moldova Wine Route” application is a welcome and absolutely necessary action, given that the wine tourism is considered to be the main attraction of our country. The usefulness of this application is certainly indisputable, considering that Republic of Moldova was named by the World Tourism Organization – the Capital of Wine Tourism in 2018.
More than 250 experts and wine enthusiasts from 70 countries of the world will visit us in September 2018 in Chisinau during the 3rd edition of the Global Wine Tourism Conference and will have the opportunity to use the application and to learn about the offers of the 12 wineries, open for visitors. Therefore, we expect a considerable increase of visitors, and the mobile application “Moldova Wine Route” will guide tourists and facilitate their access to wineries.
