{"id":13529,"date":"2019-12-25T07:32:45","date_gmt":"2019-12-25T07:32:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/en\/?p=13529"},"modified":"2019-12-25T07:46:28","modified_gmt":"2019-12-25T07:46:28","slug":"wines-from-vinaria-dac-are-appreciated-in-france","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/en\/wines-from-vinaria-dac-are-appreciated-in-france\/","title":{"rendered":"Wines from Vinaria DAC are appreciated in France"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/v-moldove-postroen-eshhyo-odin-vinzavod\/\"><em><strong>Vinaria-DAC<\/strong><\/em><\/a><em><strong> is one of Moldova\u2019s small wine producers, but its wines came to the attention of not only Moldovan consumers, but also the sophisticated Frenchmen. &nbsp;The wine importing company <\/strong><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/etnik-wines-moldavskie-vina-vo-frantsii-i-v-belgii\/\"><em><strong>Etnik Wines<\/strong><\/em><\/a><em><strong> promotes and sells these wines in France and Belgium. &nbsp;Besides, they export to China and Romania.<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A \u201cbomb\u201d for the French<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>In their style, Vinaria Dac\u2019s wines are close to French ones (perhaps Bordeaux and Burgundy).&nbsp; For example, DAC Rosu Domnesc from Vinaria DAC turned out to be a \u201cbomb\u201d for the French. &nbsp;Since it is produced by blending Feteasca Neagr\u044e \u2013 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it \u201cexplodes\u201d with red fruit with a vanilla notes brought in by the oak barrels, the aroma also opens animal tinges\u201d, &#8211; noted the director of Etnik Wines, Oxana Spinatii.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This wine also came out quite well at a private tasting against wines\nfrom Italy, France and Spain. &nbsp;It should\nbe noted that we are talking about DAC Rosu Domnesc 2014 \u2013 wine of the first harvest\nprocessed by Vinaria DAC. &nbsp;Moreover, it\ngot the silver medal at the Lyon International Competition` 2018 in France and\nlater consolidated the success at the London Wine Competition` 2018 in Great\nBritain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, one of the winery founders, Constantin Furculita, told me that\nhis goal was to create something unique. &nbsp;That is why he, together with the winemaker,\nis working on blends and co-fermentations in a search for interesting\ncombinations, including indigenous varieties. &nbsp;Are you interested? &nbsp;Then let\u2019s try what conquered the French? &nbsp;As the 2014 yield has already been sold out, still\navailable is DAC Rosu Domnesc 2015, another prize-winner\nat competitions: golden medals at International Wine\nContest Bucharest` 2018, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles` 2019 and silver at International Wine Contest Bucharest` 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DAC Rosu Domnesc 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DAC Rosu Domnesc 2015 blend includes Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Feteasca Neagra (25%) and Merlot (25%). American oak barriques were used in forl aging (second fill). &nbsp;This lot was bottled in July 2018 suggesting that besides barrel aging for not less than 18&nbsp;months, the wine has been in bottle aging for more than a year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"770\" height=\"513\" src=\"https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_3308-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13082\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_3308-1.jpg 770w, https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_3308-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_3308-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_3308-1-585x390.jpg 585w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Color of the wine \u2013 deep\nruby, the rim around the glass goes more into dark red. &nbsp;Glass rotation leaves opaque legs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First nose delivers sweetness\nof overripe black berries. &nbsp;To be on the\nsafe side, I poured the wine into a decanter and left out for an hour. This\nopened the aromas of black wild cherry, black pepper, dried plum, cinnamon. &nbsp;After a while it provides notes of black\ncurrant berries, menthol and earthy tinges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In taste black bitter\ncherry with a light fleur of cinnamon, the finish has a vanilla tinge. &nbsp;Strength \u2013 14.5%. &nbsp;An interesting wine, it is no wonder that it was\nenjoyed by the fancy French and Belgians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>DAC<\/strong><strong> Legendar 2016<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a classical Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon \u2013 60% and Merlot \u2013 40%. \u00a018-months of aging in French and Moldovan oak barrels (225 L), second fill. \u00a0The wine DAC Legendar 2016 was bottled in September 2018, also suggesting more than one year of bottle aging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"770\" height=\"492\" src=\"https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_3298-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13083\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_3298-1.jpg 770w, https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_3298-1-300x192.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_3298-1-768x491.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_3298-1-585x374.jpg 585w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Color of the wine \u2013 dark\nruby, the rim \u2013 bright ruby, revealing its youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First nose: black\nberries. &nbsp;Bordeaux blends should clearly\nbe allowed to open up under oxygen, so it advisable to aerate the wine using a <a href=\"https:\/\/wine-and-spirits.md\/vam-nuzhen-dekanter-ili-aerator-video\/\">decanter or an aerator<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The wine leaves opaque\nlegs on the glass. &nbsp;The aroma has a\nlittle black nightshade and \u201cfresh meat\u201d, but these aromas pass on quite\nquickly. &nbsp;After, come out the plum, a\nlittle black pepper, air-dried cherry, black currant, fine aroma of violet, blackthorn,\ncoffee and a tinge of caramel. &nbsp;A little\nlater \u2013 a note of ginger evolves from hardly discernible into quite marked. &nbsp;Getting back to the decanter in 1 hour and 45 minutes,\nI find in the wine aroma new aromas \u2013 tobacco and earth against air-dried\ncherry and dried plum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DAC Legendar 2016 has a\nquite interesting flavor with soft tannins and fresh acidity. &nbsp;There is a hint of chokeberry and coffee tinge.\n&nbsp;Letting the wine stay in the decanter\nmakes its flavor more berry-led, soft and less astringent, so take the effort\nto pour full-bodied red wines at least in a pitcher, if a decanter is not\navailable. &nbsp;The finish \u2013 a tinge of black\nchocolate. &nbsp;Smooth, despite 14% alcohol. &nbsp;DAC Legendar 2016 in a nutshell, is a \u201cbenign\nwine\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Of the best grapes <\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>The grapes used for DAC wines are grown primarily in the Causeni and Stefan-Voda regions, selected from the best, &#8211; says the company\u2019s winemaker Mihail Sorokinskiy. \u2013 Our goal is to attain the best quality of our wines, to make them smooth, but showing the oak aging tinges at the same time. &nbsp;That does not mean, however, that this proportion of varieties will be the same in every vintage. &nbsp;It may change depending on the ripeness of the grapes, because we need to maintain a constant quality that we define by tasting\u201d.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>At this moment in time,\nVinaria DAC continues the construction of a big cellar. &nbsp;The winemaking facility has already been set\nup. &nbsp;Even a small bottling line has been\nprocured. &nbsp;Earlier, the wines were\nbottled in a mobile line that was procured to the Small Wine Producers\nAssociation by the Moldova Competitiveness Project funded by USAID and the Government\nof Sweden. &nbsp;One item that is still being\nrented from the Association is the capsule applicator.
