Moldova can be easily found on the map of the South Eastern Europe by the Black sea, between Ukraine and Romania, you can see land that looks the bunch of grapes.
According to the legend, God was handing out of lands for different people. For days the Lord toiled without rest deciding who will livewhere. Finally, all lands dispensed and the crowd dispersed the Lord sighed in relief.
However, one more seeker, the Moldovan, approached. «Why are you late?» questioned the Lord. The Moldovan answered: «I had to work all this time and didn`t know that all went to you to get their land». And then he beseeched: «Lord, please, give us at least a little piece of land, the smallest, poorest piece of land, we will tend it with love».
God pondered the plea, then took a grape bunch and said: «I`ll give you land like this grape bunch, and I bless you to grow these grapes on your land».
For as long as can be remembered, the people living here they grow and cherish their vines as their children, they sing songs about it and they rejoice in their harvest, and then again, partaking the blessed young wine, thanking to the Lord for his generosity.
